Más allá del pensamiento antropológico: el giro ontológico-trágico del joven Foucault

Abstract

In the course The Anthropological Question, Foucault traces the “birth” and “death” of anthropological thought. Through an analysis of the text, we explain how Foucault examines the foundations of anthropology through Hegel, Feuerbach, and Dilthey, and the response to each of those foundations within Nietzschean philosophy. Likewise, we examine how those same issues can be traced in the various works that Foucault devotes to psychology during the same period, beginning with Binswanger, Darwin and Freud. Finally, we analyze how Foucault explores a way out of anthropological thought through Nietzschean tragic philosophy, in what we might call the young Foucault’s “ontological turn.”
