Abstract

The objective of this paper is to analyze the relationship between the right and the normalizing society in Foucault’s thought. Thus it is fundamental to question for what reason the French philosopher considers that the normalization procedures increasingly colonize the legal procedures. In this sense, I adopt the ‘Foucault triangle’ hypothesis that refers to three topics: rules of right, effects of truth and mechanisms of power to propose a reading leitmotif for a thesis of the author that is diffuse and sometimes reformulated among his works and courses. Therefore in the first part, I dedicate myself to contextualize the relationship between the right and the normalizing society; in the second part, I seek to develop the hypotheses of my argument; finally, I conclude by presenting some results on this reflection so important for Foucault’s thought.
