This article analizes the main points of the assimilation by Thomas Aquinas of the Aristotle's theory about the void, stressing the elements of agreement and discrd between both authors. It studies the treatment offered by Aquinas to the issue of the displacement in spaces without a resistance medium, the conctact transmission of the movement, the spherical shape of the cosmos, the problem of the supracelestial void and the introduction of a new type of movement attributable solely to the separate spiritual substances
