Abstract

Since the mid 20th century a new generation of historians started to revise the sources related to the Greek school of thought, in particular Pythagoreanism, singling out the thought and work of a group of authors, traditionally minimized within the historiography of the traditional philosophy. In the first part, some general problems associated with Pythagoreanism, and in the second one the case of Arquitas de Tarento (435-440/360-350 a.C.) is presented
